Saturday’s Scripture: How I Spend Time With God 01-14-17

Today is such an important topic. If you are a Christian and know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then spending time in the Bible everyday is, or should be, a part of your life.

For a while I was reading a monthly publication from LifeWay called “Journey.” It has a daily devotional everyday that’s geared toward women. My church provided it and that’s what I did. Although, sadly, it wasn’t a regular thing for me. I would do it here and there and try my best for most days of the week. I did enjoy it, but then, my mom introduced me to something else. It’s called “Sweet Blessings,” and focuses on writing down scripture daily. A monthly calendar is put on their website with daily verses to copy. Today’s, for example, is Hebrews 12:7-14. I have a notebook that I use to write it down in. It’s a simple spiral notebook, nothing fancy. I copy the verses in my notebook first and pray after. The main goal of this is to copy the verses to try to remember more. When you write something down, you’re more likely to remember it. I started out just doing that. But then, I felt as if God was leading me to do more. I felt him moving in my heart to pray for whatever was on my heart. Many times God speaks to me through the scripture. I start out with that and then my prayer is on a roll.
If you’re looking to grow in your relationship with God, this is a great way to go. I highly recommend it! Their website is
Go take a look. Maybe you’ll decide to join me in writing scripture daily and draw closer to God.

If you’re reading this and you don’t know Jesus, you can.
Read below:
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me.”
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

If you would like to know Jesus, you can pray this prayer or one like it.
Dear God,
I believe Jesus is your Son. I believe he died on a cross, was buried, and rose on the third day. I believe Jesus died as a sacrifice for our sin to save me and to save all. Forgive me of my sins and be the Lord and Savior of my life.
In Jesus name, Amen!
