Possibilities

Are you afraid to step out and do something you know you’re supposed to do? Is God calling you to action for His glory? Is He wanting you to step out in faith and do something you’ve never done before?

He’s spoken to you over and over and you push it off thinking, “No, You can’t be talking to me, God. It’s not possible. It can’t be.”
I know I’ve been there and thought the same thing.

Just over a year ago I was in my kitchen cleaning and preparing for dinner. This overwhelming feeling came over me and I couldn’t shake it. I knew God was talking to me. He put a thought in my mind and I was swimming in emotion. I was excited and extremely nervous about it all at the same time. The thought of doing something and not having “professional” experience, scared me to death. I actually heard Him a few months prior but blew Him and the whole idea off. It wasn’t as intense at the time and I moved on.

This time was different. For several days this whole thing wouldn’t go away and it was constantly on my mind.

I finally spoke up to my husband about it. I told him what I thought God was telling me. He said, “That’s crazy!” And I said, “I know! But it’s true! It won’t go away. God wants me to do this.” He said, “If you’re supposed to, then you need to.” I agreed and told him that I believed God would provide the wisdom I needed to know and the strength to do it.

God was telling me that I needed to prepare and cook for my church on Wednesday nights. We have a fellowship supper right before church and there’s anywhere from 30-70 people. Usually it’s right in the middle but it can go either way too. I only have experience cooking for my family.

I’ve never cooked anywhere else before. No prior experience at all! This was, and still is, a BIG deal. I don’t take it lightly and still know this is something I’m supposed to do. He has always provided and I know He always will. I’m truly blessed through it.

Is there something you’ve been wrestling back and forth with God about? What is He wanting you to do for Him right now? It’s not impossible. With God all things are possible.

Matthew 19:22
Jesus looked to them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Philippians 4:19
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.
