What do you focus on the most?
What do you spend your time and money on? All of these point back to what you consider priority in your life.
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.'”
I know, for me, I get distracted very easily. I get busy taking care of my family and trying to take care of everything else that I lose my focus on what is really important to me. Yes, my family is important, but I’m talking about my focus on God. You and I have heard before that if God is first, everything else will fall into place. And you know what? It’s true. Every. Single. Time.
But, then, I say to myself, “If I don’t do this there won’t be time later.” Really? Seriously? It’s not true, so why do we all say it? Well, I think I say it because it’s an excuse. It’s something to say to convince myself I have too much going on and so this, as an excuse, makes it ok. It’s still not.
Worship is not just your weekly visit to church. It’s not just a song you sing to God or about God. And it’s not just a prayer we pray. It can be all these. It’s not just one thing you do. Worship is about your life and how you live it. It’s about your relationship with God first, then everything else after.
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you all you need.
Jesus says it here. Seek God’s Kingdom and He’ll give you ALL you need. It’s not just food, shelter, or clothing, but also time, money, or anything else that is, or becomes, your need.
So I’m telling you this, but I’m also telling myself. God first. Then everything else.
