It was a little less than a year ago. About summertime. I met my church choir at a fabulous store called DeFrance Antiques. We got together to makes signs. I love signs! If it wasn’t so crazy I’d cover the entire space on my walls with signs.
So, anyhow, we were able to pick what words we wanted to paint on our sign. I had a hard time deciding at first. I didn’t want it to just be anything. I wanted it to matter. I wanted it to be something I was proud of, but mostly, I wanted it to be encouraging. I wanted to be able to look at it and smile and thank God for it.
After a little while, I realized God was telling me what I needed to put on it. There was no question I needed anything else. He wanted me to put ‘Set Your Mind On Things Above.’ I only put this much because that’s all I had room for. It works and I love it. Here’s the whole verse.
Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.
How often do we forget to look to Him? I know I do.
Remember, look above to God and His Kingdom. The earthly things around will then fade.
